Finding Our Comfort in God
Cristian and Kary were coming home late in the evening after enjoying some frozen yogurt together, when a drunk driver rammed into their car from the left, flipping their car over two 1/2 times, until it came to a stop upside down.
Kary said, "while we were rolling around in air, it was like we were in a bubble. We knew that God was watching over us." When the firemen came they cut their safety belts and helped them get out, thinking their injuries would be substantial. But after being checked at the hospital, they were allowed to go home with hardly a scratch on them.
The other car hit Cristian's driver side dead center. The driver was DUI and taken to jail.
"We had such a peace - it was truly supernatural," Cristian explained. "We knew that we were in God's hands. And this morning I was compelled to come to church and preach this sermon. I want you all to know that God is there for you, no matter what happens to you."
The following is an excerpt of Cristian’s sermon that Sunday:
When we read chapter 29 of Job, we see four things that were very pleasant to holy Job.
1. The confidence he had in the Divine protection.
2. The enjoyment he had of the Divine favour.
3. The communion he had with the Divine word.
4. The assurance he had of the Divine presence.
“Sometimes it’s really easy to enjoy the communion with God when everything is working out well.
But how do we react when tribulations come to our lives? ”
